The heart of Rouen comes alive as the festive season approaches. Christmas and designer market, frosted refuge, entertainment, illuminations and new features…
Here’s what’s in store for Rouen Givrée for its 15th edition!

Rouen Christmas Market

Dates and times

The little white huts adorned with garlands take their place on the Cathedral square from Thursday November 23 to Sunday December 24, 2023.

50 chalets will be on hand to offer local products, authentic, quality creations. The atmosphere at the market is warm and friendly. Above all, don’t forget to taste the famous vin chaud de Noël* or la bûche Normande and enjoy many sweet and savory delights prepared in an artisanal way.

Find, of course, Santa’s chalet, a true star of the festive season.

Rouen Christmas market opening times:

  • Monday: 2pm to 8pm
  • Tuesday to Thursday: 11am to 8pm
  • Friday: 11am to 9pm
  • Saturday: 10am to 9pm
  • Sunday: 10am to 8pm
  • Saturday December 24: 10am to 6pm

And discover the “Garden of Contemplations” a space offering a stage designed to host shows and highlights such as Friday’s musical “afterwork”, Saturday’s themed evenings…

  • Sunday, November 26: Opus 76 orchestra from 3pm to 5pm
  • Friday December 01: Dj set, Souel and Tropique from 7pm to 9pm
  • Saturday December 02: Band à côté music group from 3pm to 5pm and Dj set, Soul and Tropique from 7pm to 9pm
  • Sunday December 03: Opus 76 orchestra from 3pm to 5pm

    Rouen Givrée 2023

    Highlights

    From November 23, 2023 to January 7, 2024, Rouen Givrée invites you to various festive gatherings that will punctuate your festive season.

    In addition to the Christmas market, stroll through Rouen city center during these unmissable:

    • Santa Claus’s house: on Place de la Cathédrale, next to Jardins d’Albane (opening hours)
    • The market of flavors and antiques: local produce and collectibles on the menu
    • The tunes of the carillon: on opening day, Place de la Cathédrale
    • La véloparade givrée:all residents are invited to stroll along the bike paths with a bike, on Saturday November 25 from 5pm in front of the Town Hall
    • La Grande parade de Noël: on Sunday, December 03 at 5pm with a departure from place des Emmurées
    • Le marché des Artisans et Créateurs Normands: rue du Change

      • L’incontournable championnat Normand du Pull Moche: on Sunday, December 18 from 3pm – place de la Cathédrale

      Les Mercredis givrés de la Calende: every Wednesday, from 2:30pm to 6:30pm, with new animations (shooting stands, snook ball…)

    • Le Gala glacé : Wednesday, December 20 at 2pm – Patinoire N. Péchalat
    In the family

    Rouen Givrée is also an opportunity to spend some great family time! Free animations for children and shows will take place at the Refuge Givré on the Place Saint-Sever, from December 2 to 30.

    Creative workshops, shows, exhibitions are on offer for children aged 1 to 10 and over…

    Find also all the Rendez-vous Givrés: a program for the whole family from November 23 to January 7, 2024 in municipal libraries, the conservatory or even swimming pools.

        The illuminations

        As every year, Rouen Commerce et artisanat and the shopkeepers’ and craftsmen’s committees were consulted over the summer and in September for proposals for new illuminations.The streets concerned are those decorated in 2021, as well as Rue Henri Dunant, Rue Saint Julien, Rue Lafayette, Rue Jacques Chastellain, Rue Grammont and Rue Galilée. There will also be a giant illuminated pyramid on the station forecourt.

        The garlands will be lit, every day, from 5:30 am to 9:00 am and from 4:30 pm to 11:00 pm.
