The Rouen Christmas Market

The heart of Rouen comes alive as the festive season approaches . Christmas and designer markets, a frosty refuge, entertainment, illuminations and new features… Here’s what’s in store for Rouen Givrée 2025, from 21 November to 4 January!

Dates and times

The little white huts adorned with tinsel will be taking pride of place on the Cathedral forecourt from Friday 21 November to Sunday 28 December 2025. 50 chalets will be on hand to offer you authentic, quality local products and creations. The atmosphere at the market is warm and friendly. Don’t forget to try the famous Christmas mulled wine* or the Normandy log, and enjoy a whole host of sweet and savoury treats prepared in the traditional way. And of course there’s Santa’s chalet, the star of the festive season. Rouen Christmas market opening times:

Monday: 2pm to 8pm
Tuesday to Thursday: 11am to 8pm
Friday: 11am to 9pm
Saturday: 10am to 9pm
Sunday: 10am to 8pm
Tuesday 24 December: 10am to 6pm

Rouen Givrée 2025

Highlights

Christmas charity run, Friday 5 December at 7.15pm: take part in a 4km charity run through the shopping districts, running or walking, with a Christmas dress code. Registration deadline December 1 at Saveurs & Compagnie, 12 rue Saint-Lô.
Big Christmas Parade, Sunday 7 December: 10 floats and 120 dancers will parade through the streets of Rouen with Father Christmas. Leaving from Place des Emmurées at 5pm, arriving around 6pm on the square in front of the Hôtel de Ville.
Musical bike parade, Saturday 13 December: Three separate processions will set off from Bonsecours, Sotteville-lès-Rouen and Bois-Guillaume at 5pm, arriving at Rouen Town Hall at 5.30pm. From there, a joint parade will wind through the streets of Rouen. The event is open to all.
Normandy Ugly Christmas Sweater Championship, Sunday 14 December: from 3pm to 6pm, participants will parade through the Jardin des Contemplations, on the Place de la Cathédrale. A second parade of 10 finalists will then be held before a panel of judges, who will crown the Norman Champion of the Ugly Christmas Sweater 2025! Register now
Gala Glacé, Wednesday 18 December from 2pm to 3.30pm: a free event not to be missed, with demonstrations by Rouen clubs! Meet up at the Nathalie Pechalat ice rink.
Afterworks and frosty afternoons, from 21 November to 20 December: On the Christmas Market stage, sing-alongs, choirs, brass bands, concerts, karaoke, DJ sets and gospel music for dancing and warming up to the music! Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The whole programme

With the family

Rouen Givrée is also a great opportunity to spend some quality time together as a family! From 29 November to 28 December, the Refuge Givré on Place Saint-Sever will be hosting a host of free events and shows for children, including Christmas automatons, creative workshops, storytelling and shows for children aged 1 to 10 and over…

105 on ice

New at

Discover 105 sur glace, Rouen’s brand new temporary ice rink, set up on the forecourt of 105 from Tuesday 16 to Tuesday 23 December. For a week, the site will be transformed into a magical setting where young and old alike can enjoy the slides, the treats and the warm atmosphere. In between laps, you can warm up with a hot chocolate, enjoy a gourmet break or simply take in the festive atmosphere. In the evening, it’s all about energy: DJ sets on Fridays and Saturdays from 7.30pm, for unique moments with friends or family. And for even more magic , Father Christmas will be on hand on Saturday 20 December from 4pm to 7pm to meet the children and capture the moment. Access to the ice rink is via a token offered with any consumption at 105, the ideal opportunity to treat yourself to a good meal before putting on the skates. Opening times :
