When visiting Normandy for a vacation or a weekend, your palate will most certainly cross the road of the famous apple pie. Every house, every village, every town has its version of the apple pie.

We offer you a 100% Norman recipe to make an apple pie and amaze your guests for a successful snack or dessert.

The apple pie

Preparation: 25 minutes – Cooking: 25 minutes

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 1 roll of ready-made puff pastry, flour,
  • 500 g of apples,
  • 2 eggs,
  • 100 g of powdered sugar,
  • 50 g of almond powder,
  • 100 g of liquid crème fraîche,
  • 1/2 liqueur glass of calvados,
  • some slivered almonds.

Steps

of preparation
  • Spread the dough on a floured work surface and then line a pie pan with it. Prick with a fork.
  • Preheat the oven to 220°C.
  • Peel the apples and remove the core. Seed them and cut them into fairly thick slices. Arrange them on the pastry, overlapping slightly. Set aside.
  • Beat the eggs in a bowl. Add the sugar, then the almond powder, fresh cream and calvados.
  • Pour the mixture over the apples. Sprinkle with slivered almonds
  • Bake for 25 minutes.
  • Drink warm or cold.
