The Viva Cité festival
A historic street arts festival in EuropeViva Cité celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2024, 35 years of festive and artisticco-creation between the municipality of Sotteville-lès-Rouen and L’Atelier 231, one of France’s 13 National Centers for Street Arts and Public Spaces (CNAREP). Every year, some 70 companies perform all over Sotteville-lès-Rouen, offering no fewer than 300freeperformances to spectators who always turn out for the event. These companies, whether regional, national, international, amateur or professional, offer a multitude of shows ranging from dance to theater, including pyrotechnics, strolling shows and puppet shows. On May 18 and 19, 2024, artists and spectators will once again take over the city, its neighborhoods, spaces and unlikely places…
A friendly festival
Viva Cité is built for and with local residents, for the enjoyment of all. Located in the Bois de la Garenne, near theHôtel de Ville de Sotteville-lès-Rouen, audiences enjoy the magicalscenography, transporting them into a surprising artistic universe. The Viva Cité festival is accessible by public transport (metro – Hôtel de Ville de Sotteville station) and is free of charge. In addition to the shows, the festival features a wide range of activities for children and food stalls.
