Passage of the Olympic Flame

Hotel du Débarquement

The first convoy, on Friday July 5, 2024, will highlight the towns it passes through: Rouen, Dieppe and Yvetot, ending in Le Havre where a festive closing ceremony is planned. The Olympic torch relay will pass through Rouen from 8am to 9.26am. From the Hôtel du Département, on the quayside, come and applaud the 20 torchbearers and their procession, along their 5 km route to the Hôtel de Ville. A second convoy, dubbed “agile” because of its streamlined structure, will explore three other sites:the Abbaye de Jumièges, the Château de Mirville near Bolbec and the cliffs of Etretat. These three emblematic sites in the Seine-Maritime region highlight the history of Olympism. Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the Games, spent his entire childhood at the Château de Mirville, where he drafted the Charter of the Olympic Games in 1898.

The Solitaire du Figaro

will leave Rouen in 2024

The legendary Solitaire du Figaro sailing competition will begin its route in Rouen, between August 17 and 23. Before the official departure for Le Havre, an impressive parade along the Seine is planned, in the same spirit as the Armada. This is the first time that the 55th edition of the Solitaire will pass through Rouen, and it promises to be exceptional! Some forty boats and their skippers, including some of the legends of this legendary race, will be moored along the Seine, and a departure village with entertainment is planned for the occasion .
