The Olympic torch relay will pass through Rouen from 8am to 9.26am. From the Hôtel du Département, on the quayside, come and applaud the 20 torchbearers and their procession, along their 5 km route to the Hôtel de Ville. A second convoy, dubbed “agile” because of its streamlined structure, will explore three other sites:the Abbaye de Jumièges, the Château de Mirville near Bolbec and the cliffs of Etretat. These three emblematic sites in the Seine-Maritime region highlight the history of Olympism. Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the Games, spent his entire childhood at the Château de Mirville, where he drafted the Charter of the Olympic Games in 1898.
