A summer at the museum

A summer at the museum means a range of experiences, surprises, parties, discoveries and surprising, inspiring encounters. The museums of Metropole Rouen Normandie invite you to spend a joyful summer, alone, with friends or family, right down the street from home. The rule: come as you are!

Vallois Rope Factory Museum

Relive the atmosphere of a 19th-century textile factory! At the musée de la Corderie Vallois, just outside Rouen, you’ll plunge back into the era when the linen, cotton and wool industry was Normandy’s leading industrial activity.

Knowledge factory

A major wool cloth production center, Elbeuf preserves a rich industrial heritage.La Fabrique des Savoirs through the museum’s collections, the holdings of the heritage archives and the CIAP’s interactive devices, presents the Elbeuf territory from multiple aspects: historical, archaeological, urbanistic and environmental.

    A new museum will see the light of day in 2028, to showcase the collections of both museums in a new light. A museum, but also a leisure space open to all, a place for living and sharing. Museum of Fine Arts

The museum boasts one of France’s richest public collections with famous works executed by the greatest masters such as La Caravaggio, Poussin, Rubens, Velasquez and Modigliani.
