A unique immersive show at the heart of Rouen's Notre-Dame Cathedral

After delighting over 300,000 spectators across France, Luminiscence arrives in Rouen for an all-new experience all winter long. From January 24, 2025, Rouen’s majestic cathedral will be transformed into a magical bubble to host this immersive 360° show, combining video mapping, live music and historical narratives.

Vibrate to the rhythm of art and history through this exceptional one-hour performance, and rediscover the legend of this emblematic Norman heritage building.

Immersive heritage experience across France

Behind this innovative event concept lies a major objective: to enhance and preserve the world’s heritage treasures. Blending digital art and live performances, this unique project tells captivating stories while sublimating France’s most emblematic sacred sites. Thanks to advanced 3D modeling and projection technology, the architectural details of the monuments are recreated with bewildering precision. This visual immersion is enhanced by a three-dimensional soundscape, enriched by the emotional power of a live choir. On special evenings, the Luminiscence Orchestra will accompany the live choir for a truly exceptional musical immersion experience . Beyond its artistic component, Luminiscence embodies a strong commitment to heritage conservation. By donating part of its proceeds to the restoration of historic sites, the organization has already contributed €400,000 to the preservation of historic monuments in France since its creation in 2023. A mission that combines innovation and transmission to celebrate and protect our common heritage.

1 hour of spectacular show
Part 1: The stroll

Explore the cathedral, plunged into a soft darkness, and let yourself be captivated by its beauty, while light effects sublimate its statues. Witness its spectacular awakening, accompanied by the spellbinding melodies of an exceptional soloist, sublimated by candlelight. All accompanied by the power of a live choir.

Part 2: The nave
  • Act I: Building a Giant From the first Christians of the Roman Empire to the Gothic flamboyance of the 15th century, retrace the rise of the cathedral that saw the birth of Normandy.
  • Act II: Lights and Shadows Sublimated by the brilliance of its stained-glass windows and the genius of the artists it inspires, scarred by war or inspired by hope, Notre-Dame de Rouen stands as the guardian of Time.
  • Act III: L’Écho des Siècles Custodian of the largest carillon in France, an organ donated by the Sun King himself, and the legacy of one of the oldest churches in the world, Notre-Dame de Rouen is the guardian of time.ritage of one of Europe’s oldest choirs, the cathedral is a total work of art, transformed into a musical monument.
  • Act IV: Eternize Notre-Dame de Rouen looks to the light of the future to repair the wounds of the past, pursuing its quest for beauty and eternity into the infinite.

      Special dates with an Orchestra

      On special evenings, enjoy a musical version of the show, performed live by the Luminiscence Orchestra, accompanied by one of the region’s most talented choirs. Dates for special evenings with live choir and orchestra: Fridays and Saturdays, from February 21 to March 15, at 7pm or 8:40pm.
