Big snack

Rouen à Table!

Get ready for a grand finale to the Rouen à Table! event, with a convivial and fun-filled afternoon snack on Place des Emmurées on Sunday October 13 at 3.30pm.

Rouen à Table!

Transmission and awareness-raising

This event, open to all, aims to promote the quality of local produce and the diversity of Norman flavors, in line with Rouen’s membership of the UNESCO Creative Cities network for gastronomy since November 2021. The program features a wealth of educational activities, culinary demonstrations and tasting workshops, encouraging the public to adopt eating habits that favor short-distance distribution, and promoting Normandy gastronomy to foreign audiences and future generations. Rouen à Table ! places particular emphasis on the power of passing on know-how, with the support of the region’s hotel and catering educational institutions, craftsmen and restaurateurs. A large number of them are supporting the initiative by taking part in all the concepts on offer during the festive weekend, including the “grand goûter”.

A delicious and convivial afternoon

Families are invited to join us for an appetizing and lively afternoon of fun and creativity. Local pastry chefs will present their exquisite creations, offering gourmands of all ages a veritable symphony of flavors. While children get their hands dirty in a cookie workshop run by CFA Simone Veil, or take part in a macaroon-making workshop run by Greta de Grand-Quevilly, parents can enjoy pastries from Gill. Then the whole family will enjoy an entertaining show on the theme of food waste and seasonal consumption, put on in partnership withAtelier 231. And that’s not all! La Galette du Val de Seine will be bringing its artisanal touch to the event, with fresh crêpes and galettes made with quality local ingredients. Our partners have left nothing to chance for this exceptional closing event. Sirest, supplier of meals for our children in the school canteens, will be offering a gourmet break with its tasty 4/4, chocolate-banana cake and far breton. Their culinary expertise and use of fresh ingredients will guarantee a top-quality tasting experience. The Le P’tit Plat training school , true to its “Do to learn” approach, will also be showcasing its talent. Thanks to their educational restaurant, students will offer hands-on culinary experience, supervised by passionate master professionals.

Show

Humorous and participatory

To top it all off, the show “Ratatouille Rhapsody” will be presented in partnership with Atelier 231. This theatrical and musical play, directed by Compagnie Ça S’peut Pas, takes a humorous approach to the theme of food waste and seasonal, local consumption. A captivating, participatory performance that will delight young and old alike! Something’s cooking…Sidonie Beauchamp, a Michelin-starred chef, has joined the resistance against the “Food Corporation”. She criss-crosses the world with her mobile kitchen to rediscover tastes and flavors. Colin, a gourmet rocker, is to become her assistant, with the secret hope of transforming his cookware into musical instruments. Between saucepans and songs, the two cooks will need the audience’s help for their gustatory adventure!
