This year’s Fête du Ventre weekend in October will feature a host of innovative and creative events throughout the city. The new program aims to showcase the richness and excellence of local gastronomy, in line with Rouen’s prestigious international recognition as the first French city in the UNESCO Creative Cities network for gastronomy.

Maison Vatelier

Run by Benoît Vatelier, French brioche champion in 1997, this bakery has been delighting gourmets since 1993. Renowned for its exceptional expertise, this bakery-patisserie was featured in the 2013 TV show “La meilleure boulangerie de France”, where it came in 3rd place. During this grand breakfast, sample their unmissable brioches,crisp, airy viennoiseries and indulge in a forgotten Normandy specialty: the roulette, a croissant dough rolled in butter.

Ma Boulangerie

Thanks to a meticulous selection of raw materials, including organic and traditional French flours, Grands Crus and origin chocolates, and free-range eggs… Christophe Cressent has been awarded the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France, and invites you to discover his products, a perfect fusion of tradition and innovation. The natural sourdough is refreshed daily with precise know-how, from a strain initiated many years ago by Christophe, and which has been shared around the world during numerous training courses. Savor ourauthentic and sophisticatedsourdough breads during your big breakfast!

Café Caron

Anne Caron, Best Roaster of France 2023 and first woman to win the Best Roaster of France competition in 2017, sublimates the art of specialty coffee. Drawing on her extensive travels in Ethiopia, Brazil and Guatemala, she shares the landscapes and faces that shaped her specialty coffee blends during her travels. Each bean is carefully selected and roasted to deliver unique, ethically-sourced aromas. For the big breakfast, discover Latte Art in an eye-popping workshop! We’ll show you how to create milk foam patterns on your cappuccino, latte or macchiato.

Les Normandes du p’tit Tougard

At this artisan farm in the Pays de Caux region, Stéphane passionately transforms his cows’ milk into creamy delights. From stirred yogurts to white and fruit cheeses, butter, cream and Skyr, he offers a gourmet range that embodies Norman quality and tradition. You’ll find all these dairy products at the big breakfast.

The Confectioners

The guardian of an exceptional taste heritage, the only artisanal confectioner producing apple sugar, rigorously perpetuates this tradition in a historic workshop nestled in an old factory. Twenty enthusiastic craftsmen and women with disabilities produce this emblematic confection, recognized for its quality and authenticity, as evidenced by their award at the Trophées de l’Attractivité touristique in the Valorisation du Patrimoine category. The confectioners also work with cocoa, so why not try their spread for breakfast ?

Maison Le Meur

In Mesnil-sous-Jumièges, Nicolas Le Meur has been working on his artisanal jam recipes since 1989. A true enthusiast, he prepares countless jams in keeping with the seasons, sourcing them from orchards along the Fruit Route that crosses the Boucles de la Seine. A reference in the region, he also makes coulis, compotes and fruit jellies.

Clos des Citots

Martine and Gérard, proven cider growers since 1992, organically cultivate some fifteen varieties of cider apples and pears on over 20 hectares of land on the banks of the Seine. Handcrafted and 100% local, the apples and pears are transformed on site into a variety of juices, some of which have won awards. Breakfast is the perfect opportunity to taste them!
