Prepare your taste buds, it’s Rouen that’s treating!”

UNESCO Creative City

You are, here, at the right table! Rouen is the only French city to be distinguished by the Creative City Network in the field of gastronomy by Unesco. Obtained in 2021, this label recognizes its actions to prioritize excellent gastronomy and organic agriculture, in a sustainable development approach. The creativity of the city of the Norman capital is now
internationally recognized. We would therefore be wrong to deprive ourselves of it!

The Belly and Gastronomy Festival

Fun and family-friendly, it lands on October 14 and 15 in the Vieux-Marché district of Rouen.
In the heart of the city, between the bales of straw and the bleating of sheep, more than 140 exhibitors present their products.
Fresh and local! Animation, music, giant barbecue or culinary contest are on the program. This great mass of the Norman gastronomy is always very awaited and attended by nearly 150 000 visitors.
Will you be there?

ODAS's lucky star

Not only does chef Suzanne Waymel hold the “Young Talent” trophy from Gault et Millau, but she retains the star
of the Rouen restaurant in the Michelin guide.
To sit down at the Odas table is to experience a rigorous and unrestrained cuisine that draws its flavors from Norman products and adds that singular touch of creativity. The 30-year-old chef has been officiating alone in the kitchen for the past two years and develops her recipes in duo with her partner Olivier Da Silva, who created and ran the stoves of this starred restaurant since 2015. In a stolen passage, a stone’s throw from the cathedral, Odas is one of the most intimate addresses. The terrace offers a quiet space and an annex, in private lounge, enjoys one of the most beautiful views of the cathedral.

Picnic with the chefs

On September 17, meet at Place de la Cathédrale. Rouen’s greatest chefs will concoct a giant, tasty picnic to share on the square in front of the Grande Dame. Because in Rouen, gastronomy necessarily rhymes with conviviality.

A series that is greedily sympathetic

Chef Damien offers the “Rouen à table” series broadcast on social networks and the Tourist Office website. The famous chef, co-founder of the website 750g.com, takes us to meet the chefs of the Metropolis and the actors of local gastronomy and offers a recipe concocted with 4 hands. This one for apple vanilla charlotte with Christophe Lecourt, chef at Gill’s Pastries, might just give you some ideas!

The sweet road

Mmhh …Ma Boulangerie’s Mirliton, Confiseurs’ apple sugar, Auzou’s Joan of Arc tears, Vatelier’s brioche, Yvonne’s little cabbages… here are a few Rouen specialties. And for those who love the great outdoors, head to the Fruit Route where you can buy apples, pears and strawberries at the gate.
