The forest
Domaniale VerteDrive north of the city of Rouen to discover the Green State Forest. Formerly owned by the Frankish kings, Charles VI bequeathed this forest to the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Ouen, which managed it until 1791.
The Verte state forest is located 6 km from the center of Rouen. It is a privileged site for local residents wishing to walk or do sports activities such as mountain biking or running. Labeled “Forêt d’Exception ®” , it has several sites of ecological interest and protected plant and animal species such as the Mountain Fern or the Spotted Salamander.
And to involve the little ones, the Metropole Rouen Normandie provides an educational booklet with fun activities around each work.
