The houses of the forests

The Rouen – Normandy metropolis is surrounded by large forests. The forest massifs represent a third of its surface area, i.e. 25,000 m², and are composed in particular of 4 state forests (Forêt Verte in Mont-Saint-Aignan or Bois-Guillaume, Le Trait-Maulevrier, Roumare, La Londe-Rouvray), where one can discover remarkable trees at the bend in a path. Three of them are also labeled Forêts d’exception.

To animate these spaces, the Rouen metropolis has equipped itself with adapted facilities:the Forest Houses in Orival and Darnétal. Throughout the year teams of animators offer a program of animation in connection with the fauna and flora of Normandy: night stroll, creative workshops, exhibitions, hosting of schoolchildren, initiation, eco-stage, awakenings on nature …
